About Central Baptist Church

 Located in the northern area of Brantford, Central Baptist Church Brantford is a home to believers in Jesus seeking to worship, grow and serve God in Brantford and beyond. Along with Sunday morning worship ser-vices, CBCB offers growth groups for all ages and serves the local community with outreach programs such as VBS, summery soccer ministry, and Pioneer clubs. Beyond Brantford, CBCB supports several mis-sionaries who proclaim the gospel in many different areas.

 The Associate Pastor role, working under the leadership of the Lead Pastor, will be responsible for equipping student ministries, which includes youth, children’s and College and Carrer ministries. The Associate pastor will give oversight and support through discipleship and training to leaders and volunteers of these ministries. In addition, the Associate Pastor will work along side deacon’s to ensure ministries are run in compliance with church by-laws and policies. 

Central Baptist Church Brantford is committed to missions, both locally and globally. The candidate for this role will be expected to participate in local mission opportunities within schools, nearby communities, and church outreach programs. 

Responsibilities: 

    • Growth Groups: Equip deacons and leaders serving in Youth ministry ▪ Organizing leaders, planning ministries, running training. 
    • Engage the students, plan opportunities for teens to worship, grow, and serve. 
    • Encourage parents as the primary care givers to children and teens. 
    • Work with the deacon serving over this area to plan, organize, and train leaders serving in Children ministries (Sunday morning programs, Wed evening programs, nursery) 
    • Active participant in youth events, both on site and abroad. 
    • Plan, organize, and train leaders serving in College and Career ministries (Growth group night, and service opportunities) 
    • Local Missions Engage with teens at local high schools 
    • Support leaders with local missions opportunities (Soccer outreach, VBS, etc.) 

Desired Education/Experience 

  • Bachelors degree in biblical related studies 
  • ACBC certification (or equivalent) or a willingness to pursue certification 
  • Experience working with youth and children

1) General Qualifications

  • The Office Administrator must be a Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that demonstrates qualities of discretion, tactfulness, confidentiality, courtesy, and diplomacy. You are expected to prioritize and use time management skills while reporting to the Lead Pastor in a multi-staff environment.
  • Per General Operating By-law Section 24, the Office Administrator must be a member of Central Baptist Church Brantford upon hiring.

2) Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for the church office during office hours including via telephone, email, electronic forms, and physical visitors at the front door.
  • Point Emergency Contact during Office Hours in case of a major emergency – notifying Police/Fire, Lead Pastor, Board Chair, Principal, CBCC Director, Building & Grounds Chair, Custodian, and Employee Health & Safety Chair.
  • Primary facilitator of church-wide communications via the weekly bulletin, MailChimp, Planning Center (i.e., Church Center, Calendar, Events, etc.), and www.cbcbrantford.ca, excepting deacon communications and communications related to church membership meeting communications, which are to be facilitated by the Church Clerk. This is to be done through participation as a member of the Communications Team. Note: others on the Communications Team may generate some of the content listed in this point, but the Office Administrator is to ensure consistency.
  • Exercise general supervisory and administrative authority over the church office routines, reporting directly to the Lead Pastor.
  • Communicate with the Computer Technician (contracted for oversight of church computers and network), Accounting Clerk, CBA Secretary, and Church Custodian (who reports primarily to the Building & Grounds Chairman) for requests for office-related services, purchasing, and facility reservations.
  • Training, oversight, and scheduling of Office Administrator Supply staff (subject to Lead Pastor approval).

3) General Communication As Required

  • Communicate with the Church Clerk regarding the database management system as required.
  • Communicate, as required by the Lead Pastor, for weddings, funerals, ordinations, baptisms, communion, conferences, family dedications, and pastor-related special events.
  • Any miscellaneous communication as directed by the Lead Pastor.
  • Engage in continued education as directed by the Lead Pastor.

4) Terms and Conditions

  • Part-time position (20 hours a week).
  • Hourly wage (to be discussed).
